This is a community to play an online version of an old parlor game that me and some friends used to play over email. We knew it by the unimaginative name of "The book game", though versions of it turn out to be known as Ex Libris in the UK and Liebrary in the US.
There's a post with the rules, but the short version is that it's a game where you score by inventing plausible-sounding first lines for books you haven't read, and picking the real first line out of a lineup of other fakes.
Apart from that framework, it's quite adaptable, and low-involvement - a player basically won't have to do more than write five sentences and check five radio buttons over a period of maybe a couple of weeks.
Also, (assuming this takes off at all), there definitely doesn't have to just be one Book Game running at any given time - if you have a few books that have or might produce great first lines, feel free to start one yourself!
